Burkhart & Chapp Chiropractic is excited to offer two new cutting-edge therapies.
1) Acoustic Compression Therapy (ACT for short)
This therapy utilizes focused sound waves to create a vibration or shockwave in the treated area. Cumulatively, these waves cause the tissue to begin the process of regeneration. The muscles and ligaments release more fibers and filaments. Cellular chemicals are released to simulate the surrounding tissues to go to the area and assist in the healing process. The microvasculature or blood flow increases allowing for more nutrients to be delivered to the injury. The net result is healing.
2) Therapeutic Laser
This therapy utilizes light energy generated by a class IV laser. Four specific wavelengths of light are used to interact synergistically with the cells of the body. Overall, the laser energy causes heat and increased circulation to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain.
How does this impact my care?
Together, these therapies allow for treatment of back and neck conditions as well as problems not traditionally thought to be treated by a chiropractor. This is exciting because it creates a new opportunity for patient’s to receive cutting-edge care that does not end with drugs or surgery. With ever rising co-pays and deductibles, we are proud to provide this therapy to patients as an alternative and preventative treatment.
