What Causes Headaches?
There are many causes for headaches. Some common causes for headaches are sinus trouble, vision problems, nutritional deficiencies, stress, or tension to mention a few. However, many headaches are caused by a misalignment of the vertebrae (bones) in the neck. Even when other symptoms are present, the deeper issue or problem causing a headache may be spinal misalignment. When your bones or vertebrae are not in the proper alignment, this creates a domino effect of further symptoms.
Headaches are not uncommon and the typical remedy used to relieve the pain is an aspirin or Tylenol. However, the best thing you can do to resolve reoccurring headaches is to have your spine checked by a doctor of chiropractic. An initial visit to the chiropractor will involve an exam and health history. X-rays of your spine may also be taken to determine where your spine is not functioning properly. It is common for us to find that the vertebrae (bones) in the neck are out of alignment. When this happens, some of the most common symptoms are headaches, stiff neck, pain radiating down the neck into the arms and decreased range of motion in the neck. An adjustment can offer immediate relief of headaches and other symptoms, but for long-term relief, the doctor may recommend additional treatment or other therapies to address your specific problem.
If you or someone you know suffers from chronic headaches or some of the other symptoms mentioned above, try chiropractic.
